Hen party fun

Just a little update after a fun weekend away in London…
My brother and sister-in-law-to-be, Aileen, are getting married in only a few weeks time now, and this weekend was the hen party celebration!

I made a few crafty treats for each of the hens to enjoy – flower corsage pins. Here are a few before I gave them out to the hens:

The colour scheme of the wedding is Cadbury purple, and fuchsia pink so I spent plenty of time sorting out lots of embellishments in that palette, and hand cut and die cut a mountain of felt and printed fabric flowers. The Cuttlebug, my Nesties (Scallop Circles Small, and Flower Creations 3) also PTI Delightful Doilies dies have been getting lots of action lately!!
Lots of layering and adding of beads and buttons and the like, then adding the brooch pin backs.

To make eight different and unique – but all coordinating – flower corsages 😉

Plus I sewed a bunch of extra die-cut flowers, beads, sparkles and embellishments onto a gathered length of tulle, which was sewn to a pearl-effect hairband.
And I papercrafted an ‘L-plate’ to pin onto the back of the veil for Aileen to wear.

Just heading into the theatre for Mamma Mia

We all had a really great weekend, taking in a couple of the London sights, a West End show at the beautiful 1930s Art Deco style Prince of Wales theatre – Mamma Mia, based on the songs of ABBA (such fun and a brilliant laugh for a sing-along too!).
Then out for a lovely meal and drinks in the evening in Covent Garden…. We had a good girlie giggle and I think Aileen really enjoyed the occasion, so that is definitely the
main thing!
It was a super time all round.

Too tired now I’m afraid for much else – heading to bed in a moment. I think I must be too old for this partying life and for living it up in the ‘Big City’, LOL, but for a special occasion it was really one to remember 😉

Back tomorrow with a card,

I'm a crafty type and always have been. Forever. All kinds of crafting goodness. I'm married to a very special man. For one thing, he puts up with all the crafty nonsense.
